Matcha Meringues
Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon Aiya Culinary Grade Matcha
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl of a stand mixer, add egg whites, salt, and matcha powder.
- Beat on medium-high speed until the egg whites are foamy.
- Add 1/4 cup of sugar. Beat on medium-high speed until evenly mixed.
- Add another 1/4 cup of sugar. Beat on medium-high speed evenly mixed.
- Add another 1/4 cup of sugar. Beat on medium-high speed evenly mixed.
- Add the final 1/4 cup of sugar. Beat on medium-high speed evenly mixed.
- Then either pipe the meringues into cookie shapes or spread across an entire cookie sheet to break up later.
- Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour.
- Then, turn off the oven and let dry for another 1-2 hours. You’re done!
Matcha Meringues are a light and crunchy dessert that’s perfect by itself as a snack or also as a decorative item, like a cake topper or garnish. These meringues melt in your mouth and the match helps cut through the sweetness. It’s the perfect mix it and forget it type of recipe.
